That's Just Like Lunch To Me, Boy

Bobby Bowden took part in a Reddit AMA yesterday and it was awesome. The former Florida State coach discussed Taco Bell, the origin of the phrase "dadgum," his favorite type of pie, grits vs. oatmeal and a bunch of other topics. My favorite part came when a reader mentioned that Bowden was once spotted putting peanuts in his RC Cola, which seems beyond bizarre. Bowden responded, "Well you know, I always did that. I’d get an orange drink and put peanuts in it, or any cold drink. I think Jimbo does that too. It’s an old country habit. That’s just like lunch to me, boy."

Mike Ditka on the Redskins

Bears legend Mike Ditka was asked about the controversy surrounding the Redskins team name, and in true Ditka fashion, he had a lot to say. Here's a quick snippet: “It’s all the political correct idiots in America, that’s all it is. It’s got nothing to do with anything else. We’re going to change something because we can. Hey, listen, I went through it in the '60s, too. I mean, come on. Everybody lined up, did this. It’s fine to protest. That’s your right, if you don’t like it, protest. You have a right to do that, but to change the name, that’s ridiculous. Change the Constitution -- we’ve got people trying to do that, too, and they’re doing a pretty good job.”

Stephon Marbury, Master Thespian

Stephon Marbury has become a cult hero in China since leading the Beijing Ducks to their first-ever CBA championship, in 2012. He even has his own statue and will soon appear in a play about himself. Tickets for I Was Marburyofficially went on sale yesterday. The play will cover Marbury's life during the Ducks' championship season and the point guard will play himself in the production, but will only appear in a few scenes.

Mullet Alert

UConn sophomore Casey Cochran was just named the team's starting quarterback and showed off his trademark mullet at a press conference. Unfortunately, he still needs work before unseating the greatest sports mullet of all time.
