Rihanna rips CBS for pulling her intro; network now going in new direction

Rihanna is not happy with CBS for pulling her intro from its inaugural airing of 'Thursday Night Football' and now the network is going in a different direction.

The R&B star and domestic assault victim had recorded an intro package featuring her chorus from the hit song "Run This Town," with narration from actor Don Cheadle, all to debut as the NFL season opened. But CBS decided to pull the video last week for fear it would not set the right tone for its coverage of the Ray Rice domestic abuse story.

Rihanna responded this week with a tweet that read, "CBS you pulled my song last week, now you wanna slide it back in this Thursday? NO, F--k you! Y'all are sad for penalizing me for this."

CBS responded by agreeing to drop the song from its intro for Week 2 and every week going forth, instead using the broadcast's theme music.

“Beginning this Thursday, we will be moving in a different direction with some elements of our Thursday Night Football open," said a CBS Sports spokesperson. "We will be using our newly created Thursday Night Football theme music to open our game broadcast.”
