Özil thanked the team via twitter and referred to it as a 'shirt' because, of course, that is what they call jerseys in Europe. Still, it sounds weird when they are referring to a basketball jersey.

The midfielder seems to have taken an interest in basketball after stopping by the Team USA training camp in Las Vegas over the summer to get some tips from the pros.
