I'm back from my mini-vacation. Thanks to Pete Blackburn, Brendan Maloy and Luke Winkie for filling in.

It took nearly five hours and 12 innings, but the Royals dream season continued thanks to their 9-8 Wild Card playoff victory over the A's. The game featured potential puppies, baseball legends giving awkward TV promos and some head-scratching managerial decisions. In the end, Kansas City prevailed (despite what MLB.com says) and Twitter went wild.

On the Opposite Side of the Competitive Sports Scale

While the Royals and A's played their most important game of the season, Wild goalie Ilya Bryzgalov posed for selfies with fans in the middle of the team's exhibition game against the Blues.

Derek Jeter Gets a Sandwich

The legendary Carnegie Deli is now serving "The Derek Jeter Triple Club Sandwich," which consists of turkey, bacon, American cheese, tomato and lettuce on toasted white bread. And since it's the Carnegie Deli, the sandwich is big enough to serve three people. And since it's the Carnegie Deli, it costs $28.

Lovely Lady of the Day

I've been wanting to feature Charlotte McKinney since she dissed Kendall Jenner earlier this month. As luck would have it, Charlotte just did a photoshoot with BroBible and another for Galore Magazine. Both are amazing (click here for full-size gallery).

Celebs With Michael Strahan's Teeth

The Photoshop geniuses at Mandatory put Michael Strahan's famous gapped teeth on various celebrities, including Beyonce, Jennifer Aniston and Sofia Vergara. Survey says it's not a good look for them.

Mark McGwire turned 51 today. I really hope he's still not wearing torn underwear at his advanced age. For more shots of McGwire through the years, check out this gallery. For more classic sports photos (underwear and all), follow the SI Vault on Twitter.

Odds & Ends

Wizards big man Marcin Gortat now refers to himself as Sexual White Chocolate, cementing his status as the league's most entertaining player ... Things continue to look bleak for Jets quarterback Geno Smith ... Luke Walton's best NBA days may be behind him but he certainly has a future in high fashion ... Jazz guard Trey Burke apologized after nude photos of him started to make the rounds ... Ronaldinho sign a pitch invader's shirt during a Mexican League game ... I give an A for effort to this Nats fan. ... Manny Ramirez's major league baseball career may not be over just yet ... The situation at Michigan is getting more and more interesting ... A Tetris movie is in the works. I have no idea why ... Single people are healthier than those who are in relationships ... This may be the worst practical joke of all time.

Royals Win. Their Fans ... Not So Much

No fan should ever wear this cat outfit. I don't care how many years his or her team has gone without a playoff appearance.

Bill Burr on Women in the NFL

Bill Burr, my favorite comedian, had a great rant about women in the NFL.

Someone Help This Pug

This cracked me up.
