The Patriots pounded the Bengals, leading Tom Brady to post this goofy Facebook message. The highlight of the game was the team's moving tribute to Devon Still, whose daughter is fighting pediatric cancer, which included cheerleaders in Still jerseys ... the Bills carried defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz off the field after defeating his former team, the Lions, 17-14, which would've been a cool gesture had it not been organized by Schwartz back in the spring ... The 49ers beat the Chiefs and Jim Harbaugh got really excited about a penalty call that helped his squad ... Two players (Kansas City's Travis Kelce, Buffalo's Chris Gragg) busted out the Ric Flair strut to celebrate a touchdown ... The Browns needed a miraculous comeback to beat the Titans, which led to this awesome locker room dance party. Even these sad Browns fans got cheered up by the win ... Visitng Houston Texans fans filled the Dallas Cowboys AT&T Stadium, much to the dismay of Tony Romo, but Dallas won in overtime thanks to this riddiculous Dez Bryant catch ... Jaguars mascot Jackson de Ville made a strange Ebola joke ... This writer has many problems with the NFL's Breast Cancer Awareness efforts and thinks it's all based on bunk science.

MLB Notes

The Royals completed a three-game sweep of the Angels to advance to the ALCS for the first time since 1985. Among the highlights were speedster Billy Butler stealing his first base since 2012, Lorenzo Cain's back-to-back highlight catches in the fifth inning andGeorge Brett's postgame celebration.  Meanwhile in Detroit, The Orioles made Elaine Benes and Cheerios cereal proud with a 2-1 victory to sweep the Tigers. Buck Showalter proved he was a genius in the ninth inning and the ALDS promises to bring some fresh blood to the World Series.

College Football Notes

As I say every Monday, Martin Rickman's Between the Hashes and Andy Staples' Punt, Pass and Pork are required reading for all college football fans. My three favorite items from the weekend were TCU pulling the Dead Frog Play on a kickoff return, Nebraska lineman Jake Cotton falling like an oak tree and these Tennessee fans awkwardly dancing to Lil' John. My least favorite item was the end of the UMass game. As an alum, I demand state funds be put toward an investigation of this final play.

Lovely Lady of the Day

Jesse from Nashville emailed to request Jana Kramer as LLOD. As luck would have it, I've been a Jana fan since her brief appearance in Entourage and have been wanting to showcase her for a while (click here for full-size gallery).

Take That, Canada

The Fifth Annual World Poutine Eating Championship took place in Toronto over the weekend and was won by an American.Matt Stonie of San Jose, the second-ranked competitive eater in the world. He ate nearly 15 pounds of poutine in just 10 minutes. I think this song says it all.

Ain't No Party Like a Roy Williams Dance Party

North Carolina held its annual "Late Night With Roy" event on Friday to kick off the college hoops season. The highlights were Roy Williams busting out his dance moves and women's coachSylvia Hatchell, now cancer-free, being introduced to the packed house at the Dean E. Smith Center.

Happy 58th Birthday, Tony Dungy. In this 1984 photo, Dungy instructs players at Steelers Training Camp in Latrobe, Pa. Dungy spent eight years in the Steelers organization, working as defensive backs coach (1981-83) and defensive coordinator (1984-88), before moving on to Kanas City in 1989. Odds & Ends

Seahawks defensive lineman Michael Bennett doesn't like Derek Jeter ... Love this fan's outfit as she enjoyed an afternoon in the Jaguars swimming pool ... Katy Perry made quite the impression during her stint on ESPN's College GameDay ... Spike Lee is making a film about the Triangle Offense ... Ranking the top 20 golfers for the 2014-15 season ... Georgia Tech punter Sean Poolewas suplexed after a great fake punt ... Fifty bizarre engagement photos ... Bad news: Caffeinated underwear won't make your butt smaller ... A huge list of problems solved by MacGyver.

I'm So Fancy

Indiana rookie Damjan Rudez of Croatia shows off his skills  in front of a packed crowd at the Pacers FanJam.

Tennessee Time-Lapse

Neyland Stadium was "checkered out" on Saturday for the Vols-Gators game.

Happy Birthday, Jonathan XIV

The UConn mascot celebrated his first birthday over the weekend. Here are scenes from the celebration.
