Colts Hang On, Celebrate Awkwardly

The Colts squeaked by the Texans 33-28 in a rare competitive Thursday Night Football game. T.Y. Hilton led the way with 223 receiving yards (and one LeBron James-esque celebration) and kicker Pat McAfee completed a one-man onside kick to help Indianapolis get off to a hot start. Unfortunately for the Texans, their bid to come back from a 24-0 deficit fell short, even though J.J. Watt scored on a fumble recovery (which he celebrated with a "welp face") and Andre Johnson grabbed a touchdown pass (which he celebrated by getting spanked by a fan) to make it competitive. The Texans fumbled twice at the end of the game, one of which DeAndre Hopkins could've easily recovered.

Gone Games

Extra Mustard looks at seven defunct sports, teams and leagues. Missing from the list is the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (GLOW), which is the subject of a great Netflix documentary.

The Shaq Summit

The New York Times has a good piece on the Shaq Summit, a yearly meeting in which representatives from all of Shaquille O'Neal's business ventures (19 and counting) get together and discuss their campaigns and products. The biggest takeaways from the story are that O'Neal made $21 million last year, wears a size 60 XL suit and there is a thing called Soda Shaq that comes in four flavors.

Be a Good Person Friday

I started a new Hot Clicks feature last week called Be A Good Person Friday in which I spotlight a charity or organization doing good things for the world. This week, I want to bring your attention to Adams Camp in Colorado, which provides a variety of intensive, personalized, and integrated therapeutic programs for children with special needs. I spent 14 summers at overnight camp and it is a special place. These kids face enormous challenges in their day-to-day lives and deserve their own special place. If you have any extra money, even if it's $5, please help out.

If you'd like to nominate a charity or organization for Be A Good Person Friday, email me at andy_gray@simail.com.

I'm Excited For This Show

Production begins this week on a new series called Sin City Saints, starring Andrew Santino, Tom Arnold and former LLOD Malin Akerman. The show, which will air on Yahoo, "follows the triumphs, travails and transgressions of Las Vegas’ brand-new pro basketball franchise, the Saints." It kind of sounds like the forgotten classic 1st and Ten, but not on HBO (translation: less nudity), with a focus on basketball instead of football.

Mascot Fail

The Adirondack Flames introduced their new mascot with this tweet. The team decided to give Scorch a back story and it did not go so well.

Earnhardt Family :: Dozier Mobley/Getty Images

Dale Earnhardt Jr. turned 40 today. I can't think of a better way to honor the popular NASCAR driver than with this shot of the Earnhardt family in 1982. I had a similar faux brick fireplace in my house growing up and this photo brought a smile to my face. For more classic sports photos, visit the SI Vault on Twitter.
