WVU kicker kicks second game-winner, finally gets to talk to coach
Sunday October 12th, 2014

West Virginia's Josh Lambert hit a 55-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Mountaineers over Texas Tech Saturday. It was his second game-winning kick with triple zeroes on the clock this season.

After Lambert's 47-yarder to beat Maryland, West Virginia head coach Dana Holgorsen was asked what he told his kicker before his fateful attempt.

"I haven't talked to Josh Lambert since he got on campus," Holgorsen said, "and we are going to keep it that way." It's not negligence on Holgorsen's part; he'd just rather have his special teams coach deal with the specialists.

But after Lambert's game-winner against the Red Raiders, Holgorsen broke his rule.
