Steve Smith no longer plays for the Carolina Panthers but the team will still be funding his upcoming vacation thanks to the $5 million buyout he received when Carolina let him go in the offseason.

The Baltimore Ravens wide receiver is still using his acrimonious split with the Panthers as fuel, as evidenced in his recent interview with Jim Rome, during which he reminded the team that his bye-week activities would be on their dime.

Shane Battier butchers a Billy Joel song

"I’m here in Baltimore playing well, so I plan on taking one of those vacations from that money this weekend on our bye week.”

Of course even the most lavish of weekend vacations would have a hard time racking up a $5 million bill, so it would be fair to say the Smith family could be traveling courtesy of the Panthers for the foreseeable future.
