Dr. J endorsing fantasy sports even though he doesn't play fantasy sports

Celebrities endorse products all the time, but perhaps Anthem Media Group could have found a better pitchman than Julius Erving.

Anthem announced Wednesday that Erving has joined the company as a shareholder and "brand ambassador." Dr. J will work with all of Anthem's different media properties, including the FNTSY Sports Network and RotoExperts.com, despite the fact he doesn't play fantasy sports.

Erving told NorthJersey.com he's too busy to play fantasy sports. "I don’t have the time, with four sons, three daughters, five grandkids – and golf," he said.

"Fantasy sports has become so mainstream and such a regular part of the daily conversation that I believe we can have tremendous success expanding the network," Erving is quoted as saying in a press release. Apparently it's still not mainstream enough for him to participate, though.
