When the Florida head coaching job officially became open over the weekend after Will Muschamp coached his final game with the Gators, reports began that the team would try to talk Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly into returning to the college ranks.
Kelly quickly shut down those talks by saying that the school had not contacted him, and he would tell them he was not interested if it did. When asked to expand on why he was uninterested in the job Kelly had the perfect line to mock those who thought he could not make it in the NFL.
Chip Kelly again on why he wasn't interested in the Florida job: "I don't think our pro offense would work at the college level."— Jeff McLane (@Jeff_McLane) December 4, 2014
For those who have forgotten, there were many who though that Kelly's high-powered Oregon offense was ill-equipped for the professional game, which has proven to be incorrect based on the Eagles' success.
