Jazz player threw his mouthguard into the stands and a fan grabbed it

Utah Jazz center Enes Kanter did not care for a call in the third quarter for the team's game against the Sacramento Kings on Monday, so he took out his mouthguard and hurled it into the crowd, where a fan reached out and grabbed it, for some reason.

Utah Jazz center Enes Kanter did not care for a call in the third quarter of the team's game against the Sacramento Kings on Monday, so he took out his mouthguard and hurled it into the crowd, where a fan reached and grabbed it out of the air, for some reason.

Why Kanter would think it is OK to throw a gross, spit-covered piece of plastic into the stands is hard to understand. Why a fan would do anything but dive out of the way of a used mouthguard is impossible to understand.
