Titans backup QB Jordan Palmer was working a regular job last week

Jordan Palmer, better known as Carson Palmer's brother, will be the Titans' backup quarterback on Thursday against the Jaguars. Luckily he was able to get some time off from his day job.

Jim Wyatt at The Tennessean has the full story of how Palmer went from working stiff to second on the depth chart.

Last week, Palmer was in Southern California, working a normal job. He's a partner in a company called Qalo that makes silicone wedding rings. He was also doing some home remodeling.

After last Sunday's game, the Titans were left with just one healthy quarterback. This late in the season, there aren't many free agents to choose from, either. So the team gave Palmer a call and he headed to the airport.

If Charlie Whitehurst gets hurt, the quarterback duties would fall to Palmer, who hasn't thrown an NFL pass since 2010.
