Capitals' Barry Trotz painted house numbers during NHL lockout
Capitals coach Barry Trotz really likes hockey. He likes it so much that he gets very listless when it is not around, and starts to do weird things.
He recently told The Washington Post that during the NHL lockout in 2012-13, he grabbed a can of paint and set out on a neighborhood beautification project.

"I had the paint and I had the stencils. I had nothing else to do. So I worked my way up the street and made our block look presentable."— Alex Prewitt (@alex_prewitt) January 15, 2015
"If I can do something nice for someone, I don’t mind doing that either. You could say it’s quirky. I just think it’s a nice thing to do."— Alex Prewitt (@alex_prewitt) January 15, 2015
The Capitals are 24-11-8 under Trotz in his first season behind the boards after 15 seasons as the coach of the Nashville Predators.
