Redhook Brewery challenges its employees to a Super Bowl wager
Redhook Brewery has breweries in both areas represented in the Super Bowl, and Redhook has taken the occasion to challenge employees at both locations – Woodinville, WA and Portsmouth, NH – to a cross-country wager for the benefit of charity.
Founded in Seattle in the 1980s in a former transmission shop, Redhook as become recognizable across the country. With the Patriots and the Seahawks facing off in the Super Bowl on Feb. 1, the bet will give the employees at Redhook's two locations an opportunity to show their pride for their team.
Workers at the brewery in the losing city will take a photo in the winning team's jersey and, in a show of craftsmanship and humility, brew a beer themed after the winning team.
The loser will also make donations to the charity of the winners' choice. Should Seattle win, Redhook New Hampshire will contribute to the Detlef Schrempf Foundation and if the Patriots emerge as Super Bowl victors, Redhook Woodinville will donate to the Rock on Foundation.
For Redhook staffers, the stakes may be higher, but they've never been more refreshing.
