Missy Elliott will join Katy Perry at the Super Bowl halftime show
The Super Bowl halftime show mystery guest is indeed Missy Elliott, according to Melissa Hoppert of the New York Times.
Elliott will join headliner Katy Perry, who teased earlier in the week that an "old school" female singer will make an appearance.
Perry previously announced that "guitar god" Lenny Kravitz will also join her on stage.
Elliott's hits include the songs "Work It, "The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)," "Hot Boyz" and "Get Ur Freak On." The 43-year-old was featured on a remix of Perry's 2011 song, "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)."
Last year's halftime show, which was done by Bruno Mars, had a special appearance by the band Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Beyonce's 2013 show was joined by a couple of her former Destiny's Child group mates.
