Watch: Mississippi State recruit hits buzzer beater, bolts from gym

D'Marcus Simonds, a Mississippi State commit, recently had one of those moments that all young athletes dream about, then ran out of the gym.

D'Marcus Simonds, a Class of 2016 recruit who has committed to Mississippi State, recently had one of those moments that all young athletes dream about.

Simonds went off during the opening round of the Georgia 5A state playoffs, pouring in 33 points. However, none of those points were more important than the ones he dropped in at the end of overtime to give his team the win. 

After an inbounds play, Simonds navigated his way through the defense and banked in a shot for the victory. The best part about the whole sequence, though, had to be when he immediately runs right out of the gym in excitement. 

And for anyone who thinks Simonds' run kept him from shaking hands with the opponent, he set the record straight on Twitter after the game:
