'12-'13 Knicks travel aliases are hilarious

To provide themselves with a little more privacy, traveling athletes are often checked into hotels under aliases, so nosy fans cannot call up the team hotel and bother them at all hours of the night. Athletes generally recognize this as an excellent opportunity for silliness and pick outlandish names, and it appears the 2012-'13 New York Knicks were no different, according to a list leaked to Deadspin.

The obvious winners here are Raymond Felton aka Ace Boogie, and Steve Novak aka Bud Wiser, but they are all pretty great.

Jason Kidd and Carmelo Anthony both took on names of conniving TV characters, J.R. Ewing and Nucky Thompson respectively.

Tyson Chandler picked the moniker of Tommy Bunz, in a nod to DMX's character from Belly.

The only one we can't quite crack the origin of is J.R. Smith's Patrick Oakley. Maybe it is an amalgamation of 90's Knicks stars Patrick Ewing and Charles Oakley? Only J.R. knows.
