An Italian rugby player will miss the country's upcoming match in the Six Nations Championship after a play session with a friend's dog turned bad, according to BBC Sport.

Martin Castrogiovanni needed 14 stitches after the dog bit his nose in what the Italian rugby federation has called a "slight domestic incident," the BBC reports.

Perhaps the Italian side would be wise to suit up the dog for the important match against Scotland, as he must be fairly tough to take out a seasoned rugby veteran like Castrogiovanni, who has played in 109 matches for Italy.

The RC Toulon player seems to have a soft spot for canines, as he is pictured with a bulldog in his Twitter bio.
