The Wall Street Journal talked with Alderson about his experience in the jurors' box and even unearthed a pretty great quip that the GM dropped while being questioned before selection.

Question: What do you do in your free time?

Alderson: Well, now I’m looking for a shortstop.

Alderson, who stressed that the shortstop line was just a joke, said he was surprised to be chosen along with his wife, Linda, but that he was happy to do his civic duty, telling The Journalit was an "interesting experience."
