A fan of English soccer club Norwich City got a very unwelcome side dish with his roast chicken recently, when his mother accidentally put an envelope with 16 tickets to the team's upcoming match against Brighton & Hove Albion in the oven with dinner, according to the BBC.

Mikey Knights's mother says she must have placed the roasting pan on top of the envelop and it stuck without her noticing, and when the dinner came out the tickets were charred.

Knights mother sat him down and told him about the mistake when he returned home from work that night, he told the BBC.

"I thought it was a wind-up at first, but then I opened the envelope and the 16 tickets were inside, all black."

Everything worked out in the end, as the embarrassed mother contacted the club who said they would replace the tickets, worth over £500, as a "goodwill gesture."
