Butler's Chris Holtmann responds to President Obama's Texas pick
After President Barack Obama revealed his NCAA tournament bracket with Texas defeating Butler in the second round of Midwest regional play, Butler coach Chris Holtmann responded in kind.
Butler coach Chris Holtmann says most are picking Texas, "including our president, which is why it's the last time I ever vote for him."— Kirk Bohls (@kbohls) March 18, 2015
Butler (22-10), the No. 6 seed in the Midwest, enters Thursday's game vs. Texas following an overtime loss to Xavier in the Big East tournament quarterfinals. Texas (20-13), the No. 11 seed, lost to Iowa State in the Big 12 tournament quarterfinals.
Holtmann's rejection of Obama's pick is certainly understandable, though it shouldn't hurt too much: Obama has the Longhorns losing to No. 3 Notre Dame in the Round of 32.
Butler and Texas tip off at 2:45 p.m. ET Thursday in Pittsburgh on CBS.
