Deflategate Fallout

Roger Goodell and Robert Kraft

Roger Goodell and Robert Kraft

No one can accuse Roger Goodell of favoring the Patriots anymore. The NFL Commissioner slapped New England QB Tom Brady with a four-game suspension, fined the team $1 million and stripped it of a first- and fourth-round draft pick. Patriots officials are left wondering why key statements from NFL officials were left out of the Wells Report while the wife of Jets owner Woody Johnson celebrated with an emoticon (which she promptly deleted). Both Pats owner Robert Kraftand Brady's agent Tom Yeecame out with strong statements against the report and the punishment. New England fans have already started a crowdfunding site to help pay the penalty (though it's worth noting that Robert Kraft is worth $4.3 billion, so he doesn't exactly need the financial help). Will Ferrell and Donald Trump were among the celebs to weigh in on Twitter. I was curious what Rob Gronkowski thought of the punishment, but he's still recovering from his birthday weekend in Vegas. I'm a Pats fan but thought this cartoon was well done.

Peyton Manning Sings Johnny Cash

Here's one way to forget all the Deflategate talk—Peyton Manning singing Folsom Prison Blues with Dierks Bentley.

John Wall's Ugly Suit and More From Monday Night in the NBA

Paul Pierce missed a game-tying three pointer as the Hawks evened their series with the Wizards at 2-2. In Memphis,Stephen Curry had his best game of the series as the Warriors also tied up their series at 2-2. Now that we have that out of the way, can we discuss John Wall's suit? I know NBA players want to make fashion statements but this was not a good look for anyone. Even his teammates were dumbfounded (as was J.R. Smith and most of the internet). In other NBA news, Cavs coach David Blatt was widely mocked for comparing himself to a fighter pilot, Catfish may be the key to the Warriors' playoff success and Tony Allen (illegally) played high school football under the fake name Antonio Brown.

Lovely Lady of the Day

Scott (from Parts Unknown) and Adrian (from Los Angeles) both wrote in recently asking me to feature Russian model Svetlana Bilyalova as LLOD. I almost always grant an LLOD request when it comes from more than one person, especially when their request looks like Svetlana (click here for full-size gallery).

Was This Scene Faked?

I am a huge fan of The Good Wife. I think it's one of the five best shows on TV. My (good) wife Dori and I were watching Sunday's episode and she insisted the Kalinda-Alicia scene was filmed with a split screen so the two (who famously dislike each other in real life) didn't have to film together. I thought she was crazy but there are conspiracy theories everywhere and now I think she's right. What do you think?
