Thurs. A.M. Hot Clicks: Gemma Lee Farrell; Bad Night For D.C. Sports Fans
Rough Night for D.C. Sports Fans
It's been a great few weeks for Washington D.C. sports fans as the Wizards and Capitals advanced to the second round of the NBA and NHL playoffs, respectively. Ted Leonsis, who owns both teams, offered to shave his head if they each advanced to the finals. The dream of a bald Leonsis will have to wait another year as the Rangers eliminated the Capitals in Game 7 last night, thanks to a Derek Stepan overtime goal. I am still trying to get past the image of Rangers forward Kevin Hayes yanking his tooth out on the bench. New York will face Tampa Bay in the Eastern Conference Finals while Alexander Ovechkin is already facing the wrath of the Internet after he guaranteed a Caps victory.
Meanwhile in Atlanta, the Wizards lost to the Hawks on a last-second layup by Al Horford and are one loss away from elimination. Things looked good when Paul Pierce buried a go-ahead three-pointer with 10 seconds remaining, but Horford got the last laugh. Speaking of laughs, was the kiss-cam catastophe staged? I say yes.

Sports Figures Caught Thirsting
According to the ever-reliable Urban Dictionary, "thirst" is defined as "a form of lust of or want of members of the opposite sex. This term can refer to both males and females." Perhaps you remember Bill Belichick thirsting over Chrissy Teigen at the White House Correspondents Dinner a few weeks back? Complex has compiled 15 instances of sports figures caught thirsting on camera, and it's one of the most enjoyable things I've read this week.
Lovely Lady of the Day
Mandatory.com has some new photos of Gemma Lee Farrell in a Superman T-shirt. Is this a flimsy excuse for making her LLOD? Yes. Do I care? Not really. Gemma earns today's honors (click here for full-size gallery).
Great Week for 90-And-Older Women
On Monday, I shared the story of a 93-year-old woman who attended the Crothersville (Ind.) Junior-Senior high prom with her great-grandson. I didn't expect to share two grandmother stories in one week, but then I learned about Gladys Holbrook. The 103-year-old Milwaukee resident will throw out a first pitch at a Brewers game later this month, and she has some strong opinions on this year's team.
Vote for Troyzan
Not sure if there are any Survivor fans out there, but the show recently announced that its fall season would consist of contestants who have already appeared on the show. Even better, it's allowing fans to vote on which contestants should get another chance. Hot Clicks is throwing its support behind our friend and SI Swimsuit photographer Troy Robertson (a.k.a. Troyzan), and I think you should take a minute and vote for him.
I asked him to write a quick blurb about why he deserves your vote. He replied: Survivor has been a part of my life for 15 years. I've been in love with the show from the very first time I saw the very first episode with Richard Hatch running around naked and people eating rats living in the dirt and sand. I said to myself "whatever this is I need to be a part of it." What an adventure! There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about going back and playing!
If that doesn't convince you, perhaps this video will. Chrissy Teigen even makes an appearance. Vote today!
Never Seen This Before
During a Korean Baseball League game between the Kia Tigers and KT Wiz, the Tigers attempted a unique shift that positioned the third baseman behind the catcher. The umpires, however, declared the shift illegal and forced the fielder to abandon the backstop.
