Rangers' Derick Brassard tried to steal Steven Stamkos's stick

Derick Brassard of the Rangers tried to steal Lightning star Steven Stamkos stick at the end of the second period during Monday's Game 2.

Things are getting pretty intense in the NHL playoffs, as the four remaining teams fight for a spot in the Stanley Cup final.

This intensity leads to players acting pretty oddly, like when Derick Brassard of the Rangers tried to steal Lightning star Steven Stamkos stick at the end of the second period during Monday's Game 2.

Stamkos lost his stick after getting tied up with Tanner Glass, and Brassard saw his opportunity to either grab a souvenir from one of the NHL's best scorers, or, more likely, irk an opponent in a high stakes game.

The Lightning center was having none of it though, as he chased down Brassard as he tried to retreat to the locker room with his newest trophy. Luckily the entire sequence has been immortalized in GIF form by My Regular Face.
