Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning paid tribute to David Letterman during the legendary comedian's final show on Wednesday in New York.
Manning joined comedians Jerry Seinfeld, Steve Martin, Chris Rock, Jim Carrey, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and others in helping deliver a star-studded Top 10 list themed "Things I've always wanted to say to Dave."
Manning first appeared on the show in 1997 on the eve of that year's Heisman Trophy presentation. His fellow guests were Courtney Cox and Shania Twain and the topic of conversation centered around him coming back to Tennessee for his senior season. As the NFL pointed out, Manning's "Late Show" attire hasn't varied between 1997 and 2015.
On Wednesday's episode, Manning read item No. 3 on the Top 10 list, quipping: “Dave, you are to comedy what I am to comedy.”
Manning appeared on the show again in 2005, 2007.
He then appeared on the show in 2014, when he and Letterman notably threw footballs through the windows of passing New York taxis outside of Letterman's studio.
