Bryce Harper visits one of his idols at Yankees' Monument Park

The Washington Nationals are in New York to begin a two-game series with the Yankees at Yankee Stadium, and Bryce Harper seems to be enjoying himself

Washington Nationals rightfielder Bryce Harper visited one of his idols before his team's game Tuesday against the New York Yankees.

The Nats’ star and the National League’s leading All-Star vote getter visited Yankees Stadium’s Monument Park, home to such Bronx legends as Joe DiMaggio, Babe Ruth and Harper's personal hero, Mickey Mantle.

Harper shared a picture of his visiton Instagram, marking a fun intersection between baseball’s past and its future. Some would also say Harper‘s destined to be a Yankee someday... but we’ll leave that one for the comments.

Harper also later rocked a United States women’s national team jersey during batting practice in support of the FIFA Women’s World Cup. The U.S. Women's National Team defeated Australia on Monday and next play Sweden on Friday.

Great stuff from Harper ahead of what’s bound to be an interesting, albeit brief series.
