Urban Meyer misspells fan's name in autograph, wife apologizes

The fan received a personal note from Shelley Meyer apologizing for Urban's error.

Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer carved out some time during the Buckeyes' off-season to sign autographs for fans. Unfortunately, his spelling game appears to be in off-season mode as well.

Meyer was addressing a fan named Jason Gibbs on personalized autographed Buckeye memorabilia. But Meyer accidentally spelled Jason's first name "Jayson."

Urban's wife Shelley recognized the error, but it was too late to fix. So she attached a personal note to Jason apologizing for her husband's error.

"Eek! Urban spelled it 'Jayson' before I could correct him! Tell Jason that can be part of the story!

xoxo -

Shelley"

Jason (no "y") posted a photo of the autograph and note on Fancred.

It's probably too easy to make a joke that Urban Meyer didn't "come to play school" at Ohio State, so instead we'll just commend Shelley Meyer on a thoughtful gesture.
