The Cubs had a big night on Wednesday, scoring 17 runs and shutting out the Indians on the strength of seven scoreless innings from Tsuyoshi Wada.

After the game Wada addressed the press with his translator in tow, but was able to share a new English phrase that manager Joe Maddon taught him: "I am badass"

Wada seemed to not have a full grasp of the term's definition, but was enthusiastic about the phrase nonetheless, saying Maddon taught it to him while asking him to be more aggressive with his fastball.

"I wasn't sure what the badass means to start with, but you guys are laughing at it, so obviously it is the good thing to say"

It is a very good thing to say Tsuyoshi.

Let's all hopeWada's English lessons continue with Maddon so we can keep reading these wonderful postgame transcripts.
