Jaguars mascot Jaxson de Ville is retiring after 19 years

The man behind the NFL's craziest mascot is hanging up the felt after 20 years of leading Jaguars fans as Jaxson de Ville.

The man behind the NFL's craziest mascot is hanging up the felt after 19 years of leading Jaguars fans as Jaxson de Ville.

Curtis Dvorak has been behind the sunglasses-wearing jaguar since the franchise began in 1996, and has since skydived into the stadium, "streaked" across the field at Wembley Stadium, and even prompted an NFL rules change, and now he tells News4Jax.com he is leaving it all behind.

Some of Dvorak/de Ville's most talked about bits include his unfortunate Ebola joke from last season and the time he hilariously knocked around a TIm Tebow stand-in before a game against the Broncos.

The character of Jaxson de Ville will remain on the sidelines, although News4Jax.com reports a replacement has not yet been chosen.
