Trick-shot field goals are nice; there’s no doubt about it. Sometimes, however, raw power makes for more compelling footage.

Case in point: check out this video of Texas kicker Nick Rose booting an 80-yard field goal at practice. Yeah, he’s in an empty stadium in the middle of July. He likely won’t be getting the chance to replicate this in live-game action—prove us wrong Charlie Strong—so this is the only chance he has to show off his leg.

What does he do? Nail it through the uprights with apparent ease.

Rose’ longest field goal in a game is 51 yards, which he hit last season against Oklahoma State. He’ll be a senior this fall after converting 14 of his 21 field-goal attempts last season.
