America's Tallest Person Gets Shoes
Timberwolves superfan Igor Vovkovinskiy, who stands 7-foot-8, hasn't left his home much over the past few years because he doesn't own a comfortable pair of shoes. That changed late last week when Reebok sent him several custom pair, free of charge. Vovkovinskiy was born in the Ukraine but moved to Minnesota in 1989 so that he could undergo treatment at the Mayo Clinic for pituitary gigantism. After 16 foot surgeries he was finally cleared to walk, only he couldn't find sneakers to fit his size 24 10E feet. Also of note: That little guy in the photo with Vovkovinskiy is 6-11 Nikola Pekcovic.
James Harrison Takes a Stand
Steelers linebacker James Harrison's 8- and 6-year-old sons took home "participation trophies," which led their dad to go off on the idea of "participation trophies." In a lengthy Instagram post, Harrison said, "these trophies will be given back until they EARN a real trophy. I’m sorry I’m not sorry for believing that everything in life should be earned and I’m not about to raise two boys to be men by making them believe that they are entitled to something just because they tried their best." Do you agree with Harrison? Answer in the comments section below.
Arizona's Top Cheerleader
I'm not sure who No. 75 is on the Arena Football League Arizona Rattlers as he's not listed on the team's website. But he provided the most entertaining moment of the weekend when he interrupted the cheerleaders' dance routine to bust out a few of his own moves.
