Giants lead the NFL in facial hair and other football beard facts
NFL fans spend the week pouring over statistics to see where their team can improve, or how to get an edge in fantasy football, but until now they lacked information in an important area: Facial hair.
DirecTV has done a deep dive into the beards, mustaches and five o’clock shadows of pro football and come up with some fascinating numbers, beginning with the Giants taking the title of “beardsiest” team by a narrow margin over the Chiefs.

Another interesting number to come out of the player pognotrophy data is that the majority of quarterbacks stick to the clean shaven or lightly stubbled look, while running backs lead the league in mustaches, with 30% sporting the upper lip hair.
