Prince was on hand for the finale of the best-of-five championship series before inviting the team and Target Center staff back to the venue at his compound for a three-hour concert/party stacked with hit songs, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

The lengthy opening set was heavy on hits including “Kiss,” “When Doves Cry,” “Sign ‘o’ the Times,” “Guitar” (with a great exchange between [gutiarist Donna] Grantis and Prince on guitar),“Hot Thang” (“hot thang, world champs,” he sang) and a mashup of MichaelJacksons “Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough” and the Time’s “Cool.” At one point, [backup singers Liv] Warfield and [Donna] Minnieweather broke into their own funky refrain of “we are the champions.”

Lynx star Maya Moore said she was surprised by the party, and called the rock star‘s performance “unbelievable.” Meanwhile, teammates Renee Montgomery and Seimone Augustus took the opportunity to join Prince for an onstage dance-off.
