The Mets are World Series-bound after sweeping the Cubs on Wednesday. So much for Anne V's motivation (as well as the kid from Rookie of the Year). The game was never close as Daniel Murphy homered for the 140th straight game (rough estimate) and Lucas Duda knocked in five runs. An afternoon golf outing by Yoenis Cespedes could've been a big story had the Mets lost, but winning forgives all. The team celebrated with giant beer bottles, while Jerry Seinfeld was a bit more subdued. As for the American League, the Royals may hold a 3-2 series advantage over the Blue Jays, but Toronto is winning the library trash talk battle.
