Daily Fantasy Protests
Fan Duel and Draft Kings are fighting back against the state of New York after they were deemed gambling sites. The ubiquitous daily fantasy sites filed lawsuits against the New York attorney general to prevent the sites from being shut down. They also organized a protest, attended mostly by employees, outside the AG’s office.
Lots of Athletes are Nice Guys
Tom Brady played catch with a young cancer survivor and was suprised when the kid returned the favor by slipping the Patriots quarterback $10. Meanwhile, LeBron James reached out to Emanuel Duncan, a 19-year-old with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, who idolizes the Cavs star and hopes to beat the odds so that he can become a football coach. And Marshawn Lynch made the day of a Dallas McDonald's employees with a $500 gift.
College Basketball has Begun
Dust off your home bracketology kit because the NCAA basketball season began earlier Friday with Vermont falling to Eastern Michigan.
