Are you busy on Jan. 2? The Georgia Bulldogs could use a coach

Georgia is running out of coaches for the TaxSlayer bowl.

Hey, what are you doing on Jan. 2? Have you watched football before? You may be of use to the Georgia Bulldogs.

Georgia will be without head coach Mark Richt (who was fired) defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt (who left for Alabama) and now offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer (according to multiplereports) for its bowl game against Penn State. Yes, the Bulldogs will be without their top three coaches for the TaxSlayer Bowl.

Tight ends coach John Lilly is expected to be the new play caller, as long as he doesn’t leave as well. Receivers coach Bryan McClendon will serve as interim head coach. And uh, some graduate assistants will help out wherever they can.

So this is probably your best chance to coach a football game. If you can volunteer your time while Schottenheimer, Richt and Pruitt party extra hard through the New Year, email football@georgia.edu or something. You’ll never be more needed.
