As Draymond Green has risen to national prominence as the do-it-all glue guy of the Warriors’ amazing run through the Finals and the beginning of this season, so has his vociferous mom, who is always cheering her son on and battling his detractors on Twitter and in real life.
GQ recently sat down with Mary Babers-Green to talk about her willingness to call out Golden State‘s opponents, as well as the team's own players and staff. She also revealed her long history of shouting at basketball games, including an incident where a security guard stood in the wrong place at the wrong time.
But when Dray was playing, one of the security officers was in my way and I threw some water on her. She was in the way. I wanted to see the game!
How many games have you been thrown out of?
I probably got thrown out four or five times. That’s mothering.
Babers-Green is as entertaining as ever in the interview, and has plenty of great stories, including the times she trash talked her own son for playing poorly.
