Missed messages made Marcin Gortat think he got traded
Marcin Gortat laid down for a nap on Monday and when he got up and checked his phone he got quite a start, as he had somehow missed 20 text messages.
In the Wizards center’s mind only one event could have lead to the flood of communication: he had been traded.

Luckily for Gortat, who just took home Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors, the transaction wire had been silent and he was still in Washington for the foreseeable future.
Still, inquiring minds would like to know what was the cause of Gortat’s sudden influx of text messages. Was it John Wall and Bradley Beal starting a group text about Making a Murderer? Was coach Randy Wittman desperately trying to get his center’s kolacz recipe in time for his New Year’s Eve party? I guess we will never find out.
