Lil Jon will perform at halftime of Chiefs-Texans
Just when you thought 2002 had finally come to an end, rapper Lil Jon announced he will perform at halftime of Chiefs-Texans in Houston on Saturday.
Lil Jon has indeed remained relevant in the rap game for more than a decade now, with his most recent, omnipresent feature on “Turn Down for What” by French producer DJ Snake having soundtracked many a college spring break since its December 2013 release, as well as coining an extremely tired saying you may here slip out of a millennial’s mouth every now and then.
But I digress. See, the Houston Texans love Lil Jon, so much that whenever J.J. Watt does something big or small, they play “Turn Down for What” over the PA system at NRG Stadium. Because, you know, once you begin to turn up hard enough, “what” sounds exactly like “Watt.”
Guess who else thinks what sounds like Watt?
Lil Jon does.
Unfortunately, J.J. Watt will be in the locker room when this happens, so we won’t get to see him prove his vast knowledge of dance moves over and over again. Unless he gets a sack. And when he does, rest assured those in attendance will hear this song again. Lil Jon will witness it from his luxury box somewhere.
It is “lit,” as the kids say.
