Ronda Rousey wants to play Samus from Metroid in a movie

Ronda Rousey said she would love to hit the silver screen as the one of the video game world’s first female protagonists, Samus from the Metroid series.

Not content with just beating people up in real life, Ronda Rousey likes to kick some butt in video games as well, and she recently told GameSpot who her dream role would be for a video game-inspired movie.

The MMA star would love to hit the silver screen as the one of the virtual world’s first female protagonists, Samus Aran from the Metroid series.

“I’ve always wanted to be Samus. That would be badass. I love how people found out later that it was a hot chick on the inside. And then most of the day you’re in a suit, so you can just hang out and eat donuts and be the star of Metroid. I hope they make a movie out of that.”

The film rights for Metroid were purchased in 2003, according to The Hollywood Reporter, but as of 2016 there has still been no production on the project, despite several screenwriters and directors being attached to the movie.

Rousey is currently slated to take on another iconic role this year, when she fills the shoes of Patrick Swayze in the upcoming remake of Roadhouse.
