Sam Hinkie’s insane resignation letter is even better than it first seemed.
“Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the ax,” Hinkie quoted Abraham Lincoln as saying. There’s just one problem—Lincoln never said that. It’s still a popular motivational quote in sports, though. When I covered the football team in college, they went as far as to carry an actual ax on the field for every game.
