A television reporter in Houston courageously rescued a man from a drowning car just before a live broadcast on Monday.

KTRK’s Steve Campion was getting ready to report live from Studemont Street in Houston on the flooding that the area was experiencing, when a man drove right into the water.

“Why are you doing that? Why are you doing that?” an annoyed Campion shouted at the car. His words of curiosity and astonishment quickly turned to instructions that helped a man escape from his vehicle before it became submerged underwater.

“I didn’t see it,” the man, a bit dazed, said as he climbed out of the water.

The live shot then began.
