Rams, Titans discussed trade during secret bathroom trips

The Rams struck a deal with the Titans for the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft last week by acting like they were going No. 1.
In order to discuss a potential deal at this year’s scouting combine, Rams general manager Les Snead said last week that both parties met secretly in the bathroom.

“It was easy for Jon [Robinson] and I to sneak out the back of the suite there, and act like we were going to the restroom, and then chat about the pick,” Snead said.
I’m not sure why, exactly, this was necessary. Why not just text? Or, if you don’t want to leave a trace, use Cyber Dust! I don’t get this strategy, but I do like it.
