After 21-year-old Ole Miss defensive end Robert Nkemdiche inks his rookie deal, he plans on buying a pet panther.

In a conversation with ESPN’s Seth Wickersham, Nkemdiche said owning a pet panther is totally not insane.

“No, it’s not. They’re like cats,” he said. “If someone comes over and is scared, I’ll put the panther away.”

Ah, yes. Those commonly-uttered words. “Can you please put your panther in its cage? I’m scared of panthers.” Nkemdiche totally is insane for this, but there are far crazier things he could do with his money. For instance, he could buy a pet tiger. Or, he could purchase one of Yoenis Cespedes’s cars.

I’m sure many prospects will be asked about purchasing panthers at next year’s draft combine.
