Christian Colon and his wife came up with a fantastic way to learn their child’s gender over the weekend, when the Royals player smashed a chalk-filled baseball after Sunday’s game at Kauffman Stadium.

The infielder stood near home plate while his wife soft tossed him the ball, which filled the air with pink smoke and let the couple know they would soon have a daughter.

Colon shared a video of the moment on Twitter along with the name of the child, Mia Rose.

The couple relied on Christian's sister-in-law, who was the only family member who knew the child’s gender, to put the reveal together with the inspiration for the moment actually coming from Freddie Freeman of the Braves, according to MLB.com’s Scott Chasen.
