J.J. Watt invaded some pickup basketball games

Texans star J.J. Watt had a basketball jones on Saturday, so he put out a call for pickup games on Twitter.

J.J. Watt was looking to let fans in Houston get a look at how he is recovering after having groin surgery in January, so he decided to take to Twitter in search of somepickup basketball games on Saturday.

The three-time Defensive Player of the Year made it to at least two pickup games, according to the Houston Chronicle, and Watt showed off some decent skills to go along with his mammoth size at the city’s Root Memorial Square Park.

The Chronicle reports Watt also stopped by a firehouse to play some ball, leaving the firefighters in awe when he showed up with a basketball.

"One of our guy's girlfriends saw J.J.'s tweet about playing ball and responded to him, telling him that the boys at the 9 are always playing basketball," firefighter Paul Portis said. "He just pulled up and had a basketball with him, and said, 'You guys ready for some hoops?' I think everyone's jaw just dropped.

...

"He was just a regular guy," Portis said. "I think all the guys were kind of in awe. There wasn't a whole lot of conversation during the game, just a group of guys playing hoops."
