Day 1 of the U.S. Open saw no major upsets, and a lot of Americans facing off against their countrymen as they battled to grab the season’s final major, as Madison Keys beat Alison Riske, John Isner took down Frances Tiafoe, and Jack Sock knocked out Taylor Fritz out in Queens. America’s top ranked men’s player, Steve Johnson, and women’s player, Serena Williams, take the court today.
