Will Muschamp has led Florida to an 18-8 record since taking over for Urban Meyer two seasons ago.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Florida has given coach Will Muschamp a raise after an 11-win season.

School president Bernie Machen and athletic director Jeremy Foley upped Muschamp's salary $250,000 annually, making him the seventh-highest-paid coach in the Southeastern Conference.

Muschamp will now make $2.928 million annually through the 2017 season, ranking behind Alabama's Nick Saban ($5.47 million), LSU's Les Miles ($3.8 million), South Carolina's Steve Spurrier ($3.3 million), Georgia's Mark Richt ($3.2 million), Arkansas' Bret Bielema ($3.2 million) and Texas A&M's Kevin Sumlin ($3.1 million).

Foley says in a statement: "Dr. Machen and I believe very strongly in Coach Muschamp and his leadership, and we felt it was appropriate to adjust his salary to be more in line with his market value."

The Gators are 18-8 in two years under Muschamp.
