LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) Churchill Downs has a new track announcer who will be the voice of the Kentucky Derby.

The track announced Friday the voice is Travis Stone. He was race caller at Monmouth Park in 2014 and backup announcer at New York Racing Association this winter.

Stone succeeds Larry Collmus, who left after a year to call races at New York Racing. Collmus will continue to call the Kentucky Derby for NBC.

Stone grew up spending summers at Saratoga Race Course in New York. He says he's ''counting the days'' until he begins announcing at Churchill.

Stone becomes the eighth announcer in Churchill's history.
