Medaglia d'Argento pulls 19-1 upset in Big A feature

NEW YORK (AP) Medaglia d'Argento nosed out Misszippityslewda for a 19-1 upset Friday in the $75,000 allowance feature for fillies and mares at Aqueduct.

Medaglia d'Argento was dismissed by the bettors even though she captured her previous race in Maryland. The longest shot in the field swung five-wide in the stretch and got up in the final stride for her fourth win in 16 starts.

She paid $41.60, $13.20 and $4.30

Luis Saez was aboard for trainer Linda Rice as the 4-year-old ran 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:17.92.

Misszippityslewda returned $6.90 and $2.80, and Wavell Avenue paid $2.30 to show as the 6-5 favorite.
